Vitamin C for Fading your Hair Color

As you already probably know, I'm on my way to silver hair but to achieve that I first need to fade the leftover color I have and over the years I've found that this is one of the most effective and less damaging ways to do it. It's also really easy to do.

You'll need:
  • Vitamin C pills or powder.
  • Dish Soap.
  • A Container.
I got some really cheap ones that have Rose Hip extract in them. I used about 12.
Grab the container and put the pills in there, then smash them, you can use a spoon, I used a wood utensil. You can also put them in a sandwich bag and smash them there.
Make sure you're left with a powder and no remainder bits of pill.

Then pour enough dish soap to make a paste and stir,  my hair is just below my shoulders so I used about half a cup of soap.

Then mix it and apply it on the hair you want to fade, for me it was from middle to ends because my roots are my natural color.
Let it sit for 2 hours or so and then rinse it out. It's always important to condition afterwards because this can dry your hair quite a bit. You may have to do it more than once to remove the dye, because some dyes are more stubborn but the vitamin c will remove most of it. Remember not to do it more than twice a week because it can dry your hair, so be careful.

Let me know if you tried this and what you think!

DIY Hydrating Hair Mask.

A few posts ago I talked about healthy hair and I mentioned an oil I use on my hair, well today I bring you the recipe. It's a really simple recipe with only 3 ingredients but it will help your hair so much.

You'll need:
  • Vitamin E pills
  • Coconut oil
  • Argan Oil, I used two kinds of Argain oil to make it less thick but you can just use regular one
  • A recipe or bottle to put it all in

I used about 20 pills, they look like this

I just cut them at the top with a some cuticle scissors and pour the oil into an empty argan oil bottle I had laying around. Try to squeeze out as much as you can.

Then put about two teaspoons of coconut oil and shake it until there are no lumps left.
Pour some Argan Oil, about 7 teaspoons or more if you want.
Shake and that's it!

You can heat it up, put it in your hair, wrap your hair with a warm towel and let it sit for about 30 minutes or more if you can, then wash. Just keep in mind that this could fade colored hair.

You can also put a drop or two in your hand then massage into your hair from middle to ends whenever you feel your hair dry. You can pretty much use it any way you want!

Hope you like this and make your own!
Have an awesome day!

Nail Polish and Hair Dye Haul

It's been a while since I've been to a Sally's and I wanted to get some hair dye and some polishes they had on hold for me so I went to two different ones over the weekend and I went a little crazy so I thought I'd show you what I got!

I really want to change my hair color and since the half blue half pink is almost completely faded I thought I'd try silver next, problem is I have a ton of dye but I wanted silver, the one color I don't have so I went and got three tubes of Titanium by Ion color Brilliance Brights and I hope that's enough and that this dye is good because it's going to be my first time using Ion Brights so fingers crossed!

Now, the polishes.
One thing that's really annoying to me is that the China Glaze Collections take forever to get here and when they do you can only get them at Sally Beauty Supply, and worst of all is that you have to call every single store to check if they're gonna get it.
So after 4 weeks of hunting for this collection, they finally got it.
China Glaze Autumn Nights, I was so excited for the foil polishes that I was on the look for them, but I finally found a Sally's where they are really kind and nice and they got them and put them on hold for me so I think I'm gonna stick to that particular Sally's!

The China Glaze Polishes from the Autumn Nights Collection I got are:

Gossip Over Gimlets, this is a platinum foil and you can actually see some of the gold color in it! It's really pretty and I can't wait to put it on my nails.

Strike Up A Cosmo, a pink foil, that's the color I currently have on and you can see some swatches here.

Goldie but Goodie, another foil this one is a gold one and you can see the swatch here.

Rendezvous With You, the last one of the foils I wanted, this is a really pretty purple foil.

Originally I only wanted those 4 polishes but then I saw the rest and fell in love with other 2!

Tongue & Chic, an esmerald green.

and Don't Make Me Wine, well the name says it, a wine color.

I know that a lot of people just don't like texture polishes but I really do! I don't know, I do think they look weird but in a really cool way so when the Texture collection came out I really wanted them all because they also had really pretty colors and I got every single one except the blue one, and I asked in probably over 10 different Sally's and some girls told me that that color never got to my country! So needless to say I was pretty disappointed. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year the people at Sally's put out all of the polishes from old collections that didn't sell and have laying around in a display and guess what I found there! Yes! The polish I was missing.

Of Coarse! You can never have too many blue polishes, I swear, just look at that shade of blue.

And last but not least Ruby Wing in Chocolate Mousse, this is from the Cupcakes and Champagne collection I think? but I love this polishes because they change color in the sun and they're scented and they scent actually last for days! This is a cool glitter that changes from gold to brown.

That's all I got this weekend! I hope I didn't bore you haha
Have an awesome day and don't forget to comment!

Nails of the Week

Hello! Today I'm gonna show you the colors I chose for my nails this week! I just got these polishes and tomorrow I'm gonna post a haul so you can see all of them!

This week I just chose two different colors because I didn't feel like doing some nail art or anything.

Both polishes are from the China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection. The pink one is a foil finish polish and it's called Strike Up A Cosmo, it's really pretty, it has some gold flakes in it. Great consistency and you get great coverage with only one coat.

The gold one is called Goldie But Goodie and it's also a foil finish polish. The consistency of this polish is good and is also a one coater!

So in my left hand I used Goldie But Goodie on the accent nail and on the rest I used Strike Up A Cosmo.

And on my right hand I did the opposite, Strike Up A Cosmo as the accent and Goldie But Goodie on the rest.

The camera doesn't do justice to this polishes, they're way prettier in real life. I've actualy heard some abd stuff about this collection but I really like the foil ones, they have a great formula, great colors and are one-coaters.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my nails for the week! Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Hair Care Routine

After years of bleaching my hair and dying it crazy colors I learned that I couldn´t keep the same routine as before, which basically consisted of washing every day and conditioning when I remembered, so by trying a lot of different products I found that this routine is the chosen one, because it leaves my hair super soft no matter what so today I bring you my beloved routine.

  • Don't wash your hair everyday.
I know this sounds gross and before I started doing this, my hair got greasy after one day so I washed it everyday and so on and on. You have to train your hair to produce the right amount of oil so that it doesn't look gross. But how? Well, you start by washing your hair every 2 days, then when it adapts, push it to 3 days, in the meantime you can use dry shampoo in between washes to keep your hair looking fresh. I now wash my hair every three or four days and when I think it looks weird or I want it to smell awesome I use conditioner the same way you'd use shampoo but with conditioner, it removes the dirt and makes it smell awesome.

  • If you bleach your hair
Try to use the lower volume developer you can, bleach once with a 20 vol. and then wait a week or so while deep conditioning and then do it again. Avoid 30 and 40 vol. because while it does bleach faster the damage is worse and it's easier to overprocess your hair. When your hair grows, only bleach the roots and try not to overlap, I know a lot of people that everytime they dye their hair, they bleach it all, but if you're using a semi-permanent hair dye this is absolutely NOT necessary. You'd be better off just washing out the color as much as you can and then dying over it. If you're using a box dye then don't bleach your hair!

  • Choose a good shampoo and conditioner that adapts to your hair.
I found that since my hair is dry, normal shampoo does not work for me, it leaves my hair tangled and gross so after trying a bunch of different shampoos I found my now beloved Trichomania by Lush, it's a solid shampoo so it's great for the planet also. It's filled with nourishing and natural ingredients because it´s made for curly hair, but hey! it works wonders so it doesn´t matter. As far as conditoner goes, I use the banana one from The Body Shop, I'm now looking for a new one because I´m trying to avoid that store now, but from time to time I use American Cream by Lush but I wouldn't recommend it for regular use because it's not that mosturizing.

  • Deep Condition.
This is a vital step when it comes to taking care of your hair, there are a lot of store options out there but I found that this DIY one is amazing and it´s really easy to use, or if you´re not in the mood to prepare something, just saturate your hair with coconut oil and ta-da, magic. I also use a DIY hair mask made from different oils, I'll post the recipe soon.

  • After shower care.
While your hair is still wet, put a little bit of coconut oil or argan oil on your hand and rub it from middle to ends, never in the roots because they'll get greasy.

  • Don't brush your hair while wet.
Doing this is really really bad for you, the hair tends to be more prone to breakage while wet so if you brush it you can get split ends and breakage and that's not fun, you can however detangle with your fingers very carefully if you're not into that messy hair look.

  • Avoid heat.
Try not to use straightners, curling irons, hair dryers or anything like that. Also try not to stay out on the sun, or use a cap if you can, because the effect the sun has on your hair it's pretty similar to bleaching, and that's a lot of damage. If you can't give up heat tools, then try to minimize the use or use a heat protector.

  • Brush your hair everyday.
Do it when it's completely dry, and everyday so that you spread the oil your scalp produces and it doesn't accumulate on the roots.

  • Trim your hair every 3-4 months.
Even if you're trying to grow out your hair, this helps prevent split ends and makes it look longer, also it gives the appearance of faster growing because you don't have to deal with the breakage, which makes you lose length.

  • For liquid shampoo users.

If your shampoo of choice is liquid, break some vitamin e pills and add the oil to your shampoo.

I think those are the most important steps to follow if you want healthy hair!

The Body Shop Madagascan Vainilla Flower Fragance Mist

I know I said I was gonna stop shopping at The Body Shop but then I remembered I had some points left on my Love Your Body card so I decided to exchange them and I got this among other things!

I had previously tried the Pink Grapefruit one but then I realized it was a Body Mist and this particular one is a Fragance Mist, correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Fragance lasts longer?, I don't know.
Since I was running out of my Body Mist, I decided to try a different one and I saw this one. Now I'm not a huge fan of vanilla flavored anything because the smell tends to be really fake and it makes me sick so I wasn't expecting much when I smelled this one but was I surprised. This thing smells like actual vanilla, really sweet and it's not overpowering. The other day my cousin told me I smelled like a cookie! haha

The packaging is another story though, because it leaks, so I can't carry it around and that's kind of annoying, if it's full, you need to have it on an upright position or else you end up with a big delicious-smelling puddle.

So I hope you enjoyed my last ever The Body Shop post because now that I spent my points, I will no longer shop there.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think, what do you want to see next or just about anything!

Argan Oil for Damaged Hair

Do you ever touch your hair and realize just how damaged it is? Whether it is because you love to dye it, you spend too much time out on the sun or because you love heat tools I have a quick trick for you!
Most of us know that Argan Oil is the best oil for your hair because it's really similar to the natural oil your hair produces I'm gonna tell you  how I use it to minimize the damage to my hair.

There are a lot of different types of Argan Oil but I'm gonna tell you how I use the penetrating oil, this particular one is really thick and smells quite nice. This bottle lasted me about 6 months.
  • As I've said many times, I dye my hair a lot. I only bleach my roots and I try not to overlap, but I always put some drops on the bleach, this helps so that the damage is not as bad.
  • After washing your hair pat it dry, put 2 or 3 drops of oil in your hand and rub it on your hair avoiding the roots.
  • Rub some drops on your hair whenever you feel it dry and after brushing it.
  • Before washing your hair, saturate it with Argan Oil and let iT sit for half an hour, if you can, let it sit overnight, then wash.
Follow this steps and you'll see how you hair starts looking and felling healthier.
Have you tried Argan Oil? Do you like it? Let me know in a comment!

Nails of the Week

Hi! How are you? I hope great!
You know when you get into the spirit of Christmas really early? Well that happened to me this week except only with my nails haha. After painting them I stared at them and realized it looks like winter arrived early this year. Funny thing is, I really don't care about seasonal colors.

I used Beauty Secrets Hardener as my base coat, but since this is a foil polish I recommend to use a ridge filler as a base coat.
I used China Glaze Blue Bells Ring, from the 2012 China Glaze Christmas Collection. I've been in love with this polish since I saw it, I just loved the way it looks on the bottle. The formula is great, you only need 1 coat but I used 2 just in case. No top coat.

For the accent nail I used China Glaze Platinum Silver. I have a love/hate relationship with this polish because as much as I love the color, the formula is super streaky. I used two coats and China Glaze Fast Forward as a top coat.

 Here's the final result.

The first two pictures are indoors and the last one is in natural sunlight. The camera doesn't really pick up the effect but I promise it looks the same as the bottle, really pretty. You can see that it looks uneven but that's because I didn't use a ridge filler.
Let me know what you think!

The Worst White Nail Polish

I've never been a huge fan of white nail polish, even though it's kind of a "basic" for nail polish but I just can't get into it, maybe it reminds me of when I was little and bored in class I'd paint my nails with liquid paper haha or I don't know. So I did have one but just in case my sister wanted to borrow it or something. But lately I've gotten more into nail art and suddenly I wanted to use white for a lot of things, wheter I want to use it as a base for a neon color or to do some details so I thought I'd try the one I had already.

 L.A COLORS in French White.
I bought this polish on a whim because it was on sale and I said why not, but when I actually went to use it I was surprised on how many coats I needed to make it opaque. I tried it with a lot of different base coats and it was the always the same result.

To get it somewhat opaque I put on 4 coats but the drying time is awful, everytime I tried to do something it ruined the polish no matter how many hours I waited.

I've used it for water marbling but you can barely see it so I use it when I only want one color to show on the nail. Also for dotting it's not as good, you have to leave big blops on your nails or else it doesn't show.

So now I'm on the look for the perfect white nail polish and if you have any recommendations leave it in a comment I'd love to try a different white nail polish.

Forever 21 Haul

Last year they finally opened a Forever 21 in my country, big downside, it's really far away from my house so I had been planning to go but my plans always went wrong for one reason or another and two weeks ago I finally had the time to go and I really liked it! so I thought I'd show you what I got.

First, I got 2 really awesome sweatshirts. I was trying to decide between the two but I couldn't so I got  both. The first one is a Wolverine sweatshirt, it's also really warm and soft.

The next one is a Spiderman sweatshirt, this one is lighter but still really warm.

While we're still talking about superheroes, I also got this really awesome Thor t-shirt. As you can see I really love Marvel.

Now, let me tell you, I absolutely love Star Wars, and I have quite a few Star Wars shirts already but this one is so pretty I couldn't leave it behind. It's a muscle shirt and it's also really soft. Is it me or F21 has really soft clothes?

I have a thing for shirts that are longer in the back, I don't even know why, I'm actually pretty short so this type of shirt makes me look shorter but I like them. This shirt was on sale and it's not as soft as the rest of them haha.

I already told you about the brush set I got, I haven't tried all the brushes yet because I'm not a huge fan of face powder or anything but the ones I've used work just fine. And they also had this cute fox phone case and it protects the front of the phone as well which is a must for me because I'm clumsy and I drop my phone left and right so it needed some protection plus it was on sale really cheap.

Last, I got 3 spaghetti straps that were also on sale and I got them in black, grey and white. I didn't take a photo of them because they dirty and I need to wash them but yeah!

Let me know you think of the stuff I got in a comment!or you can tell me what you think of my sheets haha.
Hope you have an awesome day! Thanks for reading.

Essence Gel Eyeliner: Review

You might remember this eyeliner from a previous haul, I said I was going to do a revview as soon as I could find a brush and guess what? I finally did!

I realize it took me some time but I really wanted a syntetic brush because I don't like brushes made with animal hair and MAC is a big no for me, shocker, I know. I looked everywhere for the Essence brush but I couldn't find it so my next choice was Elf, and let me tell you, Elf is not cheap in my country and it's hard to find so I did my research and found a place not too far away from me, and they actually had it so I got it. Two weeks later I went to Forever 21 and I saw a brush set that really caught my eye and it came with an angle brush so I got it too.

Two weeks after that, here we are and I've been using the eyeliner everyday.
A little fact about me: I love doing winger eyeliner but I also suck at it, my wings are always uneven so much that when I use a pen eyeliner I guide it with my nose so the wings are as even as I can get them, but I found that is way easier wih a brush . I´ve been using the F21 brush more because of the shape, but the elf brush is way better, the eyeliner applies better.

Lines I did with the F21 brush.
Lines I did with the elf brush.
Now, as far as the eyeliner goes, I love it, it glides on super smooth, the color is a rich black which I love, it's waterproof and it lasts all day. It does smell weird and since I'm still new at this gel eyeliner thing I take too much with the brush so I have to clean it and some lumps form but nothing that can't be fixed.
So my veredict is, do get it, it's a great way to start using gel eyeliner. Also it's really cheap and you got to love that!
Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!
